Games London has launched a series of new events and activities in partnership with Taylor Wessing.
Games London’s groundbreaking games studio accelerator has opened the call for its second cohort, while we’ve also launched a new learning and networking event, Games City Talent.
Our partnership with the international law firm Taylor Wessing helps us deliver these events and more as we plan towards London Games Festival 2022.
Games City Talent takes place at the end of the month – Wednesday 30 June – and focuses on how London’s games developers are competing to secure talent and support the capital’s recovery.
Our Accelerator, meanwhile, is searching for up to 10 games businesses looking to quickly level up their knowledge of games funding and business development – with a programme of weekly workshops that kick off in September culminating in a December Demo Day.
“Taylor Wessing is one of the few large, international law firms with a dedicated Games team, who act for developers, publishers and platforms, from global brands through to indies, in console, PC and mobile,” said Taylor Wessing’s Robert Fenner, Partner.
“Having worked alongside our clients throughout an extraordinary year to support some of the industry’s biggest deals through to its most promising start-ups, we’re proud to be partnering with Games London at this pivotal stage to promote the UK’s exceptional talent.”
GAMES CITY TALENT
Games City Talent is a new pop-up event from the team behind Games London and the London Games Festival that offers a chance to connect and network with other industry professionals and join discussions on key topics facing games creators in the city – and around the world.
Over two hours attendees get to hear from key figures, new games studios and influential voices as they discuss:
> What next for London and UK talent after a year of funding mega deals?
> What does ‘recovery’ look like to a resilient sector like games?
> How do we encourage studios with purpose to thrive?
Join us for an hour of discussion, followed by networking – the entire event will be delivered via Toucan, an innovative new platform that helped deliver key parts of the 2021 London Games Festival.
