Since 2019 Games London has been researching and exploring ways to help businesses in the city better understand how they can talk about, understand – and then hit – green, sustainability and environmental targets.
During the 2021 London Games Festival the first step in these efforts has gone public: the launch of a world-first Green Games Guide produced by Ukie and Games London with support of the UN’s Playing For The Planet Alliance plus the likes of Playmob, SEGA & Sport Interactive, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Space Ape Games and Ustwo Games.
This guide is a starting point – over the rest of the year we will work with partners and leading industry figures to turn the guide into action, including workshops and events to help 100+ businesses in the city commit to net zero themselves and encourage their players to act on the urgent global issue of climate change.
With the backing of the Mayor of London and contributing to the GLA’s short term and long term Environmental Strategy, we want to help London lead as an example in fighting climate change.
