A couple of years ago we started working on Dino Path Trail, a single-player 3D isometric roguelike survival shooter based on exploration, gathering, crafting, and vitals handling.
The main character is Lucy, a young girl on a quest to find her kidnapped twin sister, Liz. As she follows Liz’s tracks, Lucy finds herself in the Dino Path, a series of valleys teeming with resources and dinosaurs, now in the hands of ruthless outlaws.
Throughout her journey, Lucy uncovers unexpected secrets, including the mystery behind her recurring resurrection each time she dies, a phenomenon apparently shared by all inhabitants of this lands.
In Dino Path Trail, players advance between procedurally generated maps presenting different biomes and challenges, facing escalating enemy threats as time progresses.
In each map, they need to explore to find the passage to the next area, while surviving by fighting enemies and managing hunger, thirst, health, and temperature. To keep proceeding and face the rising difficulty, they need to craft items and worktables while acquiring power-ups.
Upon death or beating the final boss, players lose acquired items and currency but permanently unlock crafting recipes. In each run NPCs gradually reveal the unfolding story, requiring multiple runs to reach the game’s conclusion.
