Meet the Fringe: Gayming

Meet the Fringe: Gayming

Ahead of London Games Festival 2019, we are catching up with the people organising the wide variety of events that make up the Festival Fringe.

Today, the founder and editor of Gayming Magazine Robin Gray shares what we can expect from the launch of this brand new games publication on April 11 at the Ukie offices between 4pm and 5pm

Tell us a bit about your event.
We are soft-launching our new online magazine for the LGBTQ gaymer community to the industry with a short presentation and networking opportunity.

Gayming will be the go-to online resource for the LGBTQ gaymer community, providing news, reviews and stories about the video games world. It will be different to other video games magazines as it will look at the industry with a queer eye.

Who is this event for?
This event offers an opportunity for industry experts, agencies, press and LGBTQ gaymer notables to gather and learn about the opportunities our new magazine presents. I would encourage members of the LGBTQ community who want to find out more to visit www.gaymingmag.com and sign up there for our latest news as we build up to our launch on 1st June.

Why should people come along?
I will be discussing why this magazine is needed and how we’re going to set about dealing with the issues. I will also be discussing the opportunities that Gayming presents for the community, the industry and associated brands.

Why were you keen to be involved in London Games Festival?
The London Games Festival is the UK’s biggest gathering of interactive entertainment consumers and industry experts, so it made sense to announce our arrival into the market at the Festival. We’re proud to be joining such an exciting and diverse line up of events and to be part of a fortnight-long celebration of gaming!

What games do you enjoy?
I have quite a wide range of interests, but I really enjoy action-adventure and roleplaying games such as Borderlands, Red Dead Redemption, Diablo, Grand Theft Auto, the Lego series (yes, I said Lego!) and more. I also like some racing & sports games and party games.
