Now Play This is a three-day celebration of games and play in all their forms. At the heart of the event is an exhibition of innovative play: new digital games, physical installations, illustrations, books, board games, games for mobile devices and streets and screens and tables.
Running alongside the exhibition, there’s a packed programme of special events. We’ve got discussions about games and bodies, and about play in the city; workshops to get you started making games or experimenting with new technologies; and a series of tiny five-minute talks from different game designers, getting into the nitty-gritty of how and why they make games.
There’s also a selection of specially scheduled one-off games – ranging from interactive performance to newly-designed parlour games, from showcases of weird controllers to traditional outdoor games – all taking place in and around Somerset House.
