Applications open for Games Finance Market 2018 and Pitch Bootcamp

• Market runs 10-12 April 2018 as part of London Games Festival

• 60 games companies will meet 60 investors worth over £400m

• January training event returns to help start-ups and new games companies perfect their pitch

The 2018 Games Finance Market – the UK’s only event connecting games creators with funders from around the world – is now open for applications from developers, start-ups, investors and publishers.

Running as part of the London Games Festival (5 April to 15 April 2018), the Games Finance Market will be open to 60 games companies and 60 investors. Now in its third year, the Market has generated new business deals worth over £30m, cementing London’s reputation as a centre of excellence for the global games industry.

The Games Finance Market will take place from 10–12 April 2018 and is organised by Games London, a partnership between the capital’s screen industries agency, Film London, and Ukie, the trade body for games and interactive entertainment in the UK, supported by the Mayor of London’s London Enterprise Action Panel.

The Market will be bolstered by Games London’s pre-event training programme, the Pitch Bootcamp. The first bootcamp took place in January 2017 and took 27 individuals on an intensive two-day training and business mentoring programme covering games financing, investor engagement and pitching skills. Successful participants qualify for a place at the Games Finance Market – this year three quarters of bootcamp trainees reported follow-on talks with investors worth £7.4m.

The 2018 Pitch Bootcamp takes place on 10 and 11 January, is devised by Games London and hosted at the offices of event partner Reed Smith. A full agenda and summary of the content will be posted to www.games.london/pitch-bootcamp at the end of October.

Details on how to apply to both events can be found below.

The Games Finance Market partners include Moore Stephens. For information about sponsorship for the Market or the wider London Games Festival, please contact Paul.Davies@filmlondon.org.uk or call +44 (0) 20 7613 7676
